Bebe Rexha calls out Lufthansa Airlines for “hate crime”
Singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha took to Instagram to share how she was “threatened” by the staff at Lufthansa Airlines for speaking Albanian.
“I believe this to be a hate crime because I am Albanian,” the pop star declared.
In her Instagram story, Bebe Rexha tearfully recalled how she spoke in her mother tongue as a friendly attempt to connect with a security agent she thought was Albanian.
“I spoke to him in Albanian asking where to get my ticket and now he is banning me from the flight,” the 34-year-old singer recounted.
“He would not let me take his name. He continued to mentally abuse me to make me feel like he was more powerful than he was,” she added.
She also noted how no staff in the airline stood up for her or defended her. “Not one of the women at Lufthansa stepped in or said something,” said the singer.
Bebe Rexha implored the airline to do a full investigation into the incident as well as the identity of the man who harassed her. “An ‘I’m sorry’ is not gonna cut it this time,” she added.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Lufthansa released a statement to CNN to assure the public that they are already “conducting an internal review on the matter.”
“As an international airline, we connect people and countries around the globe. We do not tolerate any discriminatory behavior of any kind,” said the spokesperson.
Doja Cat and Joseph Quinn snuggles up in London
An unlikely pair ignited dating rumors as rapper and hitmaker Doja Cat was seen painting the town red with Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn.
The two were spotted cuddling at Dingwalls in Camden, London–with Quinn’s arms wrapped around Doja while she’s leaning her back against the actor.
Later, pictures of the 28-year-old singer and the 30-year-old actor chatting animatedly and enjoying a drink in a nearby pub also surfaced on the internet.
This romantic getaway seems to have been two years in the making. Fans recalled how, in 2022, Doja Cat put Quinn’s co-star Noah Schnapp on blast for publicly sharing a private message from her telling him to “tell Joseph to [hit her up].”
Drama ensued as the singer went on a TikTok live and expressed her frustration. “The fact that Noah… went and posted a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably socially unaware and whack. That’s like borderline snake shit, that’s like weasel shit,” she noted.
Schnapp then deleted his post and assured fans that he already apologized to Doja Cat in private.
At present, the singer and actor are yet to confirm their relationship.
