Interview Magazine's September issue features Chappell Roan on the cover, where she discusses how she has navigated her rise to fame, maintained her moral integrity while pursuing success, and shares her experience advocating for trans rights at this year’s Gov Ball.

In the interview, which arrives alongside a stunning photoshoot that combines Roan’s now-signature style with editorial chic to present something dramatic and unique, Chappell describes that ‘Gov Ball was really hard. It was hard to be like, ‘I’m going to say something that a lot of my family is going to be like, “Wow, you crossed the line”. It’s emotional because I believe what I said, and what’s sad is that me believing in who I am, and what I stand for, rubs against a lot of my home.’ 

Roan’s memorable performance at Gov Ball featured her captivating portrayal in full drag, paying tribute to the ‘queen of all queens’, the Statue of Liberty. During her performance, she revealed that she turned down the opportunity to perform at The White House’s annual pride celebrations. In a powerful speech, she firmly stated, ‘In response to the White House’s invitation to perform for pride, we advocate for liberty, justice, and freedom for all. When these values are upheld, that’s when I’ll consider performing.’

In the interview, Chappell expressed her lack of interest in being the leading actress in a blockbuster film. She also discussed her disinterest in chart rankings, mentioning that she feels her career holds more significance beyond charting albums and songs. Chappell emphasized that charts are fleeting, stating, ‘A chart is so fleeting. Everyone leaves the charts.’

Billie Eilish Becomes Most Listened To Artist in the World on Spotify

Billie Eilish has made history by becoming the youngest female artist to ever hold the title for the most monthly listeners on Spotify. With an impressive 100 million monthly listeners, she has surpassed The Weeknd and claimed the number-one spot on the platform. This incredible achievement comes shortly after the release of the remix of Charli xcx’s ‘Guess’, which featured Billie Eilish.

Eilish shared a post on Instagram expressing her gratitude towards her fans, stating that the achievement is the ‘craziest thing ever’.

Just five days ago, The Weeknd used social media to urge listeners to stream Billie Eilish and help her achieve this milestone. His support was evident, responding to a post from a Billie Eilish chart data account, stating, ‘Let’s go!🙏🏾❤️📈📈📈🟢’

Earning the title of the artist with the most monthly listens in the world adds to Billie Eilish’s impressive list of streaming achievements, which includes holding the #1 album on Global Spotify, the number #1 album on Apple Music Global, and having the #1 female song on Global Spotify. 

Additionally, Billie Eilish’s track, ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’, has returned to the #1 spot on Global Spotify this week. The song has now spent 21 days at #1, amassing over 8.6 million streams.
