‘One Tree Hill’ sequel series set to hit Netflix

Your favorite 2000s drama, One Tree Hill, is back! A sequel series for the 9-season show is currently being developed by Netflix.

Original cast members, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton, have been confirmed to join the new project. The duo will not only reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, but they will also lead the production as executive producers.

They teased the fans on Instagram with a picture of the much-awaited cast reunion, featuring Danneel Ackles and Bevin Prince.

“What if you really can go back home?” they wrote in the caption. “If there’s an opportunity to team up with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up,” they added.

Other cast members flocked in the comments. Jana Kramer, who played the role of Alex Dupre, stated that she’s “ready when y’all want.” Bryan Greenberg, who portrayed Jake Jagielski, responded only with "Jeyton?" hinting at a possible reunion with Burton’s character.

“There’s only one Tree Hill after all,” Bush and Burton remarked.

The upcoming sequel series would be set 20 years after the original show's finale, focusing on Brooke and Peyton as they once again navigate life and love—this time as mothers of teenage children.

Brazil’s Supreme Court suspends access to X

The Supreme Court in Brazil has mandated the suspension of the entire country’s access to X, formerly Twitter after it failed to comply with multiple court orders.

Various social media users from Brazil are already experiencing difficulty logging in, as the ban officially went into effect on Saturday, August 31. The ban was imposed on Thursday, August 29, after Elon Musk, the owner of X, refused to send a legal representative to Brazil.

The platform’s altercation with Brazilian courts originated from its refusal to block the profile of Senator Marcos do Val and other people who are currently under investigation. Instead of honoring the subpoena, Musk responded with an AI-generated picture of Justice Alexandre de Moraes that likened him to the villains from Harry Potter and Star Wars.

On August 17, X released a statement announcing their decision to close their offices in Brazil after the Justice allegedly threatened their legal representative via a secret order with arrest "if [they] do not comply with his censorship orders."

In another statement, released on August 30, X contended that this shutdown was an attempt to stifle freedom of expression. “Unlike other social media and technology platforms, we will not comply in secret with illegal orders. To our users in Brazil and around the world, X remains committed to protecting your freedom of speech.”

For now, the court order remains in effect, giving internet service providers and app stores five days to block the platform. X will remain blocked until it complies with the court's orders.
