Taylor Swift Endorses Kamala Harris for President

Pop sensation Taylor Swift took to Instagram moments after Tuesday night's presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump to voice her support for Harris’ presidential bid. Swift, signing off her endorsement ‘Childless Cat Lady’, made her endorsement in response to derogatory comments made by Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, who referred to Harris and other Democratic women as “childless cat ladies”.

Swift praised Harris’s choice of vice-presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in her post, noting his longstanding advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s reproductive rights.

The singer also went on to reveal that her decision to share her voting choice publicly was prompted by an AI-generated image falsely depicting her endorsement of Trump that had been circulated on his website.

The endorsement arrived in the wake of a heated 90-minute presidential debate in which the candidates discussed contentious issues including abortion rights, the economy, and immigration.

This isn’t the first time Taylor Swift has thrown her support behind a Democratic nominee in a race against Donald Trump. Prior to the 2020 election, Swift had expressed her endorsement for President Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris.

Swift joins the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, John Legend, George Clooney, Spike Lee, and many others who publicly support Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign.
