Ticketmaster is coming under fire in the UK as a result of the disappointment experienced by thousands of Oasis fans who were unable to secure tickets for the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour.

The uproar stems from Ticketmaster’s implementation of ‘dynamic pricing’, a strategy that resulted in ticket prices surging by hundreds of pounds while fans waited in online queues to make their purchases.

This controversial pricing tactic has sparked concern, prompting U.K. Culture Minister Lisa Nandy to pledge an inquiry into Ticketmaster’s pricing practices.

Many fans reportedly abandoned their ticket purchases after investing hours in queue lines, only to witness prices soar by up to £200 while waiting. Many fans could not access tickets at all, leaving them with no option but to turn to ticket-resale platforms.

The government plans to conduct a consultation on ticket resale websites in the upcoming autumn. Nandy has confirmed that dynamic pricing will be addressed in the consultation, stating that the government will examine ‘concepts related to the transparency and implementation of dynamic pricing, including the technology behind queuing systems that encourage its use’.

Renowned filmmaker Greta Gerwig, who gained acclaim for her directorial work on ‘Barbie’, is set to take on the monumental task of adapting C.S. Lewis’ beloved ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ for Netflix. Now, the first casting news for the project has arrived, with the report from Deadline that, Louis Partridge, best known for his roles in ‘Enola Holmes’ and ‘Argylle’, has been secured for a role that is yet to be disclosed.

Details about which of Lewis’ novels the new movies will bring to life are still under wraps, but expectations are high as Gerwig is anticipated to direct at least two films, with speculation suggesting that one of them will offer a fresh reinterpretation of the timeless classic, ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’.

Partridge is gaining recognition as an actor and has landed roles in two significant Netflix productions. He made his debut on Netflix with the 2022 release, ‘Enola Holmes’, co-starring Millie Bobby Brown as Tewksbury. Fans can expect to see him in the third instalment, set to begin filming in early 2025. Additionally, Partridge has been busy filming for Netflix’s upcoming biographical period drama series ‘House of Guinness’, where he will portray Edward Guinness.
