Paris Goes Gaga: A Barrel of Snippets, Announcements, and Performances for Lady Gaga in France

Lady Gaga had quite the week. She was spotted at a hotel in Paris, France, last Monday ahead of a rumored performance at the Olympics. She then took to the stage for her first televised performance of the year with a dazzling rendition of Zizi Jeanmaire’s song ‘Mon Truc en Plumes’ (‘My Thing With Feathers’) on the banks of the River Seine. Accompanied by eight dancers carrying pink feather fans, Gaga paid homage to Jeanmaire as she strutted down the steps along the river. She then moved to the piano to continue her performance before finishing with a mesmerising finale.

Less than 24 hours after her performance, Lady Gaga reunited with friends and collaborators Tom Cruise and Ariana Grande. She then treated fans waiting outside her hotel to an impromptu a capella performance of the song ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ from ‘A Star Is Born.’ The fans started singing the track, and Gaga joined in, creating a special moment for those there.

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal posted a video on TikTok on Sunday night of his meeting with pop icon Lady Gaga at the Olympics, where he commented on her performance. Gaga then introduced her long-term boyfriend, Michael Polansky, as her ‘fiancé’.

In a grand finale, Gaga treated fans outside her hotel once more on Sunday night. She announced via her Instagram story that she was ‘deeply touched’ by her French fans and that she would ‘come out and say goodbye with a few seconds of LG7’. Fans gathered in person at the hotel and online via TikTok and Instagram livestreams to hear the snippets. Gaga played two snippets of her upcoming album, both with an industrial rock feel, before telling excited listeners that they would have to ‘wait for more’.
