Kim Seokjin, a member of the renowned K-pop boy group BTS, emblazed the streets of Paris with Olympic flame as the first torchbearer at the Louvre Pyramid Museum during the Olympic Torch Relay. This feat cemented his name in history as the first K-pop act to represent South Korea in bearing the torch internationally.

The 31-year-old singer joined 10,000 Olympic Torchbearers who carried and passed the flame from Marseille all the way to Paris–traversing over 400 towns and five overseas regions. Some of the biggest names in this year’s line-up include F1 icon Charles Leclerc, Oscar winner Halle Berry, five-time Olympic gold medallist Sue Bird, and more.

Fans joked that Jin was definitely “booked and busy.” After all, the singer was just discharged from an 18-month military service last June 12. Within a month, he has met up with fans in a BTS FESTA event, became an Olympic torchbearer, and got scheduled to appear in an MBC variety show.

When asked about his jam-packed schedule in an interview with Weverse, Jin replied “Seeing my fans is my top priority—I have to show my gratitude before I do anything else, I think.”

“ARMY supports me, and they really make me happy. They’re incredibly important to me, so it just makes sense that I’d think to put my time with them first.”

Kate Middleton makes the scene at the Wimbledon Men’s Final

Kate Middleton arrived at Wimbledon on Sunday, July 14, to watch the tennis championships. This was her second public appearance after revealing her cancer diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales, along with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton was welcomed with a standing ovation as they took their seat at the Centre Court’s Royal Box to watch the match between Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Novak Djokovic of Serbia.

As the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Kate personally awarded the trophy to the winner, Carlos Alcaraz. Prior to the game, she also met with 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu and other young tennis players.

“Great to be back at Wimbledon! There’s nothing quite like The Championships.” she noted on Instagram.

In January, Kate had an abdominal surgery, during which it was found that she had cancer. Following that, she started going through preventative chemotherapy in February.

Since her condition was made public, the Princess of Wales was only ever seen in public once, at the Trooping the Colour ceremony with the Royal Family.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she noted in a personal written message before the said ceremony.
